Yvonne Horan

Yvonne specialises in divorce and separation together with the financial and personal issues that arise as a result. Yvonne qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1993 and in recognition of her expertise was admitted as a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel in 2000. Since 2006 Yvonne has been an accredited specialist member of Resolution (a body that adopts a conciliatory approach to relationship breakdown) and is a member of the Family Mediators Association.  Yvonne has completed a mediation training course with National Family Mediation. Yvonne believes in a conciliatory approach to resolving many of the sensitive problems of relationship breakdown and that this approach benefits not only her clients but also (and very importantly), any children involved. Clients frequently remark that they appreciate Yvonne’s sensitive and practical approach as well as her technical ability.

Mediation provides separating couples with the opportunity to reach their own agreements regarding the important issues in their lives such as arrangements for their children, finances etc. Mediation helps couples reach agreements that they can live and work with rather than having an order imposed on them by the court. Whilst couples are not legally advised in mediation sessions they are guided towards an agreement and as the process typically lasts for four to six sessions, it is a far more economical means of reaching an agreement as opposed to costly and very lengthy court proceedings. If you would like more information in this respect please contact Yvonne Horan who will be happy to discuss this with you.
